Chapter 51: Days and nights…

It was a bright, beautiful morning, the sun shone high above in the sky, and basked everything in magnificent rays of light.

The room’s interior was well-lit. The spacious area only displayed a luxuriously large bed that was capable of fitting up to five people at once. On it, lay a mattress that was dark in color and soft, it looked incomparably comfortable.

And on this large bed, were two overlapping figures.

They were two extremely good-looking young men. One of them had long black hair, resembling that of crow feathers. It draped over his shoulders, and the contrast in color made him look exceedingly pale. But he was covered everywhere with purplish red marks that varied in size and depth. They were layered, one on top of another, it looked very scary. At the same time, his wrists and ankles were bound with thin chains that connected onto the four pillars of the bed. His smooth skin and muscles contained great strength and power, yet he was completely restrained, like a beautiful beast held captive. He half-kneeled on the bed, his knees embedded deeply into the mattress, and his whole body rose and fell in tandem with the force from behind.

This young man was locked tightly in the arms of another person. His waist was wrapped by a lean, strong arm, as he received one strong blow after another.

The sound of flesh as it collided, the “pshh” sound of water, and even the sound of the rocking bed, all resonated throughout the entire room.

But the young man didn’t make a sound. He would occasionally gasp softly, but then he’d repress it and keep it trapped in his throat.

His looks were that of a fallen divinity from the highest heavens. Even if he were violated like so, he still maintained that sense of unattainable nobility.

He even maintained an expressionless face. Only the outer corners of his eyes were slightly red, showing the ongoing torment he was experiencing.

And the person violating this young man, was yet another young man.

He was born with extremely good looks. His smile was very gentle too. But each one of his thrusts were harsh and domineering, it was as if he wanted to thrust the entirety of himself into the young man. Every in and out was done with great haste, like a violent hurricane, he wanted to engulf the young man and become one with him!

It was unclear how much time had passed. The other young man suddenly moved even more fiercely and rammed into the young man until he couldn’t kneel any longer. The young man’s body leaned forward…… but the chains on his wrists suddenly stretched taut. He couldn’t go forward anymore, and instead rebounded backwards abruptly, colliding heavily onto the other’s chest!

At this time, the other young man pulled his arms back tightly, his hips also thrust……

After that, he seemed to relax a bit. He then fell face-up with the young man in his arms.

In that moment, the young man was penetrated even further, and his body convulsed and spasmed. Finally, he couldn’t help groaning, but he still made no sound.

The two panted slightly, their bodies were thick with sweat. This gave them a crystal-like shine.

The other young man seemed to be unsatisfied. His mouth licked and sucked on the young man’s neck, adding new marks to the original ones that had yet to fade. His hands traveled up from the young man’s waist and abdomen until they reached the two red pearls on his chest. They were already slightly swollen. He twisted them and began to knead and play with them.

His expression was dubious, and he said softly: “Gege, how do you feel? Happy?”

The young man that was being toyed with remained silent, determined to hold a poker face for a hundred years.

The other young man seemed angered by this. He abruptly withdrew the previous smile, and with one forceful move of his hips, he flipped the young man over, and began to thrust again!

This round of disciplinary conquest lasted another two to three hours without rest. He seemed to have an inexhaustible amount of vigor. He had slammed into the young man until glistening tears streamed from his eyes. Only when nothing more could come out the front did he finally finish inside of him.

He held the young man in his arms as he kissed him, touched him, and nibbled on him. He didn’t see the young man he imprisoned roll his eyes.

Gu Bai felt very gloomy.

‘Feel’, my ass! ‘Happy?’, like hell!

You fucking poisoned me so that I couldn’t talk, and then you blamed me for not talking, you can’t just play schizophrenic like that!

It’s been three days already and he still hasn’t left this bed, was this something a human would do?

Gu Bai had no energy to diss him. He only felt that he, himself, was a big tragedy.

This tragic story began the night Gu Bai instinctively ran away, then failed to turn himself in, and ended up getting captured.

It wasn’t clear what had provoked him, but the protagonist Gu Bai had hand-written into this straight stallion novel had mutated, and suddenly turned into a gay guy, who would cross thousands of miles to…… oh no, it was a bed, that he wanted to rob him of his virginity on.

After being kneaded and rubbed all over several times, Gu Bai finally realized that… not only did the psychopath enter the wrong set, but he also started to mess around with captive bondage play, okay!

And then came something even more terrifying!

The psycho stallion protagonist… who had top-notch skills and relationships with countless women in the original story… didn’t even use lube!

Getting penetrated without lube hurt like hell, okay! It was even more painful than getting stabbed by a knife!

Speaking of which, wasn’t the stallion protagonist supposed to be naturally gifted…?

He definitely gave him bonus skills when he wrote it!

Okay, fine. We’ll count the bonus points to have been added onto the skill of taking the virginities of women, the blood would have lubricated it over time anyway.

But why did the endurance duration not fucking! change! at! all?!

What the fuck?!

That tragic first time……Gu Bai silently counted; it must have lasted for at least two hours.

And in the end, he hadn’t even had the chance to rest before the second round came, this time lasting three hours.

After doing it the second time, he was soft for not even five minutes. Then the fucking third round started, this time lasting three hours again.

After that time, he finally got a slightly longer rest…… motherfucker, a ten minute rest time was definitely sooo much longer!

The fourth time was slow and long-lasting, coming out to a grand total of four hours.

…… ha, ha.

Roughly estimating, a day and night passed just like this.

Gu Bai was fucked from night till day, and then done from dawn till dusk. His behind felt like a perpetual motion machine, filled with vitality, and constantly being pile-driven into!

Even if the later stage after the first time felt pretty good, after doing it so much, the pleasure had already piled up to the point that it felt numb, okay!

Constantly having your sensitive spot slammed into, the endless climaxes only differentiating in big or small waves. Who! could! understand! this! Feeling?!

It was so exhausting……

At that moment, Gu Bai pitied himself even more.

Normally speaking, in yaoi stories, the bottom would be treated tenderly. After doing it for not even half an hour, he’d be breathlessly panting until he passed out. At this point, to showcase the top’s intrepidity, the top would of course continue on after the bottom woke up. Even if the person being done was a tough bottom, they would still only be able to last once or twice, and would then pass out from exhaustion.

But! In such an unscientific stallion novel, the body of a high-level Wu Jun was superb!

This had caused a serious consequence.

……no matter how many times he was done, no matter how long he was done for each time, he would still be wide awake!

What’s worse, because of martial practitioners’ peak physique, they were able to go many days without eating or sleeping. This meant that after he was done for a day and night, he was then done for two days and nights.

Yet, he was still full of energy!

How miserable.

He wanted to be a fragile flower too, okay?!

Gu Bai, who had wanted to pass out since forever but couldn’t, finally sighed a deep breath during a break in the aftermath of the psychopath’s enjoyment.

Although that sinful root was still shoved in his behind, after it had been shoved in and out of him for three days, he was already used to it.

He was very calm.

…… it seemed too soon for death from excessive ejaculation to happen quite yet, his virginity may already be dead, but after that psycho gets sick of him, he might still be able to save his integrity.

Qi Guan Rui held Gu Bai in his arms. On one hand, he moved his hips slowly, feeling the wetness and warmth inside of him. On the other hand, his hands roamed the firm, smooth skin of the person in his arms with enjoyment.

It felt really good, really pleasant…… ever since he’d turned his life around, he’d never felt more satisfied.

In the past few days, he’d grown all the more aware of his possessiveness over Zi Che Shu Bai after he’d gradually transitioned from fucking Zi Che Shu Bai as if he were crazed, to doing it leisurely, indulging in the pleasure.

Every time they finished, he couldn’t help but penetrate him deeply again. He enjoyed Zi Che Shu Bai’s every reaction and tasted every inch of Zi Che Shu Bai’s body.

He wanted Zi Che Shu Bai to be doused in his scent from inside to outside, he wanted Zi Che Shu Bai to thoroughly understand who he belonged to.

But even if he were toyed with and violated like so, Zi Che Shu Bai still looked cold and noble, like the snow on a mountaintop.

It was as if……  he still didn’t completely have him.

This feeling made Qi Guan Rui indignant, he wanted to do it even harsher, penetrate him even further, and go even rougher.

Even if they’d already done it for three days and nights, he still wanted to continue, he still wasn’t satisfied.

…… if he swallowed him into his stomach, would that allow him to keep him forever?

Qi Guan Rui narrowed his eyes sharply and gently stroked Gu Bai’s face, his eyes darkened.

He then kissed his lips.

Gu Bai’s face was emotionless. He let him caress him, penetrate him, kiss him.

Qi Guan Rui smiled gently.

But if I ate him to be integrated with my flesh and blood, how could that ever compare with the liveliness of him right now?

Unexpectedly, the atmosphere between the two became abnormally sweet.

Gu Bai blinked, and pointed his finger at his own throat.

Qi Guan Rui lowered his head: “Gege wants to speak?”

Gu Bai nodded.

Qi Guan Rui sighed, “Does Gege want to scold me……?”

Gu Bai shook his head.

Qi Guan Rui’s face changed, “Gege isn’t even willing to reprimand me after all the things I’ve done to Gege over the last few days, was it still not enough to leave even half a mark in Gege’s heart?”

He said this quickly and hastily, his expression suddenly became a little contorted.

The intense stubbornness and frustration, it was clear beyond belief in that instant.

Gu Bai froze.

……Psycho, please calm down!

Qi Guan Rui bit Gu Bai’s lips harshly, pushed his tongue inside, and swept it around his mouth willfully.

He entangled himself with Gu Bai’s quiet tongue and twisted them together, stirring and sucking, making slick wet noises.

It was very enchanting.

Gu Bai felt himself being held tighter and tighter, the thing inside him also got harder and harder.

Shit, was this the cue to go another round?

You schizophrenic psychopath, just how despicable are you?! Where did Ge ever hurt you, tell me?!

Life can’t go on like this……

But unexpectedly, Qi Guan Rui actually held back this time.

He only used his thing to nail Gu Bai securely onto his body, and entangled their limbs together, intimate to the point of being one.

Qi Guan Rui’s long black hair also kept drooping down. During the entanglement, a lock of hair knotted with one of Gu Bai’s. When he found it, he laughed under his breath, chopped off the knot of black hair there, and set it down next to the bed.

Gu Bai saw, and felt a bit helpless.

Those cutting skills were so bad…… would it affect my hairstyle when I brush it later on?

Qi Guan Rui hugged Gu Bai for a long time, he seemed to be pondering over something.

Then, he gently blew into Gu Bai’s ear: “Gege, I’ll let you speak, okay?” After having said that, he sucked in slightly.

A wisp of black air darted out from Gu Bai’s seven orifices[1], disappearing into thin air.

Qi Guan Rui’s voice also became extremely soft, extremely light.

“Gege, what did you want to say to me?”

Gu Bai cleared his throat, “…….when are we returning to the academy? School’s about to start,” he said seriously.

Xiao’s Comments: When Gu Bai started thinking about ukes in yaoi novels and how he wished he were a fragile flower too, I couldn’t help thinking of all the yaoi mangas I’ve read with those tropes. I’m sure many of us have fantasized about a gong/top that could last for ages but…three days and three nights straight…lol, poor Gu Bai…at least he felt pleasure even though his chrysanthemum is pretty numb by now.

Translator’s Notes:

[1] The seven orifices refer to the seven openings/holes on the face: the eyes (two), the nostrils (two), the mouth (one), and the ears (two).

Chapter 50: Imprisoned…

Qi Guan Rui drew closer and closer.

Gu Bai felt as if he was looking at a huge python head that didn’t know where to bite first.

But no matter what, I hope it bit somewhere that didn’t hurt too much. My nose is pretty outstanding, what do you think?

…damn it! Let go of my handsome face!

No! I mustn’t watch myself get eaten.

Gu Bai closed his eyes tightly.

Hmph, I’m not just gonna sit and watch your triumphant face.

At that moment, something soft touched Gu Bai’s forehead.

Gu Bai felt something was off.

Then, the soft touch became a moist sensation in between his eyebrows. It brushed back and forth, back and forth…… and onto his eyelid.

Wha…? That was a fucking tongue! The fuck…! Was he licking me to see whether or not I tasted good?!

Did you have to be so impatient!?

That tongue licked over his eyelid, and then licked over the bridge of his nose. After it licked the bridge of his nose, it licked his cheek……

It licked and licked, until it had licked his entire face.

Gu Bai felt like he was a fish on a chopping board, being examined to find the most delectable part of his body.

This made him shrink back involuntarily…… it was most definitely not because he was scared. I haven’t struggled violently in refusal yet, I’ve already been cooperative enough, okay.

But doing a thing like this, like smearing your saliva all over something before eating it… that was seriously unhygienic! Gu Xiao Shan… ah no, you psycho, was this what I taught you?!

And finally, that tongue reached Gu Bai’s lips.

This ticklish feeling…… it was insufferable……

Gu Bai recoiled again.

Accordingly, the person on top of him seemed to get a bit angry.

The sudden rise in anger was too obvious, you felt it even if your eyes were closed.

The next moment, Gu Bai felt a sharp pain on his lower lip.

I g-g-g-got bit, I really got bit! My flesh almost got bitten off……. turns out it was the meat on my face that was the most tender, wasn’t it?!

Gu Bai instinctively hissed, the sense of being eaten felt much more real now.

But quickly following, that tongue slipped past his lower lip and entered directly into his mouth.

Gu Bai’s eyes shot open, and he reflexively bit down. But then his lower jaw was held open, and he was unable to close his mouth at all.

Before he could even react, the tongue stirred around in his mouth…… it first licked over his teeth, and then entangled itself with Gu Bai’s own tongue. It sucked viciously in an aggressive manner.

But however aggressive it was, it was clear without a doubt…… that this was a kiss.

A fucking french kiss at that…… a really sentimental, dominating french kiss.

Gu Bai blinked.

His first reaction was actually…… this cannibal somehow didn’t have bad breath??? That was unscientific!

Qi Guan Rui’s eyes were fixed unwaveringly on Gu Bai’s face, the madness in his eyes became all the more clear.

And amongst that madness, was an even stronger, willful, yearning desire…… so intense it made others apprehensive.

He nibbled on Gu Bai’s mouth intensely. His other hand involuntarily held Gu Bai’s waist, and began to knead forcibly.

The strength in his kneading was strong yet dubious, with an implication full of [–]. It was hasty, impatient, and didn’t allow for any defiance.

Gu Bai: “……”

Bro, wait… you definitely entered the wrong set!

This was a harem world as straight as a ramrod, wake up!

You suddenly changed the tempo from eating someone to doing homosexual things with them… hey, you’re moving too fast, I can’t keep up!

Qi Guan Rui obviously didn’t “wake up”. His kissing got even stronger, even wilder.

It was like he had let loose all the pent-up desires he had suppressed before. He gnawed on Gu Bai’s lips and tongue excitedly and explored all throughout his damp mouth.

He had replicated this scenario an infinite number of times in his mind before, but none of them were as realistic as what was happening right now. None of them made him as satisfied, as captivated, or as crazed as he was now.

Qi Guan Rui knew that Zi Che Shu Bai didn’t want this…… he didn’t even reciprocate half of the same desire in his eyes.

While this agonized Qi Guan Rui, it also made him develop an even deeper, more stubborn desire to possess him.

If he wasn’t willing to…… then I’ll just keep him tied up until he was.

Zi Che Shu Bai was his, and only his.

No one else could cast their greedy eyes on him.

As he thought of this, Qi Guan Rui slowly raised his head and parted from Gu Bai’s lips.

But because the kiss just now was so intense, a long, thin strand of saliva stretched out between the two’s lips.

Gu Bai’s heart jumped.

T-t-t-too hot!

After that, Qi Guan Rui’s actions became even more presumptuous. He raised his hands nonchalantly and ripped open Gu Bai’s inner-clothing.

He tore it effortlessly, like it was a thin sheet of paper.

Note: The City Governor of Tian Du Cheng had every piece of clothing from inner-wear to outer-wear, custom-made and tailored. Superior beings below the Wu Jun level were not able to damage it so easily. The price was expensive, and it was a must-have for either home or travel!

Gu Bai made a deadpan face.

As fucking expected, the psycho’s strength had already risen to an entire other level.

He had the feeling that even if he weren’t tied up, he’d still be no match for this bastard!

Qi Guan Rui ripped the clothes some more. Gu Bai’s inner-clothing were now torn into tatters and thrown off the bed like trash.

Gu Bai felt a chill on his body and was suddenly stark naked.

As for Qi Guan Rui, he smiled gently and tore off his own clothes.

The two faced each other with their bare bodies… let’s not be so unperturbed about this.

Yet, Qi Guan Rui’s body never left Gu Bai’s.

His legs pressed down against Gu Bai’s sides, and his body heat seemed to permeate throughout the whole room now that it wasn’t concealed by clothes.

Especially the thing between his legs that every man had. It now raised its head firmly and looked straight at Gu Bai.

Gu Bai felt the eerie danger…… of getting fucked.

Perhaps all men shared this instinct. Almost immediately, he lifted his legs and……. kicked him!

The place where he kicked, of course, was that wicked thing.

But Qi Guan Rui only laughed lightly and didn’t try to dodge it.

Gu Bai cheered himself on: Great kick! Clean and quick, not a trace left behind!

But unfortunately, just after he kicked the guy, he realized that instead of kicking that evil root of all sins, he had kicked Qi Guan Rui’s quickly risen palm instead.

And then, his foot was caught.

Qi Guan Rui laughed: “Looks like Gege’s mad.”

As he said that, he lifted Gu Bai’s foot, brought it to his lips, and licked it shamelessly.

Gu Bai cringed.

I didn’t wash my feet, you psychopath!

But Qi Guan Rui didn’t seem to mind at all. In that position, he licked each and every toe that appeared to be exquisitely carved from white jade, as if he were tasting for some delicacy. He was careful and meticulous and didn’t miss a single inch.

The feeling of a wet tongue as it licked back and forth on his toes made Gu Bai develop an overwhelming itchiness there, which speedily traveled up to his spine, and caused his entire body to involuntarily shake a little.

Oh, fuck! I gotta fight against this!

Gu Bai initially thought he was going to be eaten. Since he couldn’t defy it, he only wanted to cooperate with the process so that he died faster and suffered less.

But never in a million years would he have thought that he wasn’t going to be eaten, but was going to be “eaten” instead, ahh!

His reflex arc suddenly shortened, and Gu Bai decisively retracted his feet. His arms and whatnot started to struggle to be freed.

……but the result was highly unsatisfactory.

As Gu Bai struggled, the chains that were on his four limbs made crisp noises. They were light and melodious to the ears, as if it were background music.

And this sound paired with the rubbing sound of the bedsheets as he struggled. It became almost…… enchanting.

He suddenly stopped.

Gu Bai quietly raised his eyes.

Fuck! That psycho’s eyes were red!

……you really couldn’t blame Qi Guan Rui for this, even if he were easily aroused.

Those chains were black, and the bedsheets were also a darker color. On the dark colored sheets laid a body that had exceedingly pale and perfect features, who’s wrists and ankles were shackled by those chains. The clear black and white contrast made him seem a bit fragile.

And this perfect body, it even writhed and moved under him…… his foot was held up and his leg was also raised, and yet he moved and moved……

This view…… it was really beautiful.

It really….… drove someone crazy.

Qi Guan Rui set Gu Bai’s foot aside, and pushed himself forward, firmly pushing down on Gu Bai’s body.

At this time, Gu Bai’s legs were spread open. His crotch aligned perfectly with Qi Guan Rui’s growing desire and made contact with it, the two pressed closely against one another.

That burning desire, in that instant, also burned into his heart.

Gu Bai’s face turned red.

Having been a virgin for both his lives, he had never been so intimately close with another man or woman.

And now his thing was closely pressed against another guy’s desire……

Qi Guan Rui slowly started to move his hips.

He used his hot, hard member to grind viciously against that of Gu Bai’s, which was not yet erect. His eyes squinted and revealed a pleasurable expression of enjoyment.

This soft sensation…… it seemed to be different yet similar to his own.

But unexpectedly, it made him feel abnormally…… happy.

It seemed that each thrust was able to create a small electric current. It was an exciting stimulus that seem as if it was imagined, yet it made one unable to stop, wishing for more.

Slowly, Gu Bai’s thing also got a bit hard.

He panicked a little, and began to move his body, trying to escape.

But in Qi Guan Rui’s eyes, Gu Bai was just squirming his body. This strengthened his desire even more.

Although these writhing movements were incredibly beautiful, they also angered Qi Guan Rui.

Do you dislike me that much? We’re already here, and yet you’re still pointlessly resisting……

……he still wants to escape?

No, he can’t escape.

Qi Guan Rui’s eyes suddenly became a pair of snake eyes.

He opened his mouth and blew out a mass of black fog, which quickly entered Gu Bai’s mouth and nostrils.

Gu Bai was depressed.

You’re fucking poisoning me again!

Immediately afterwards, he found that he didn’t have the strength to struggle anymore. Even if he used the tiniest bit of strength, he would feel sore and go limp. But if he didn’t use any strength, he would recover instead.

What kind of high-end, foreign poison is this…… it was way too fucking intellectual!

Qi Guan Rui’s movements became even more brazen.

His crotch moved even faster. It seemed he only needed to rub three to five more times and Gu Bai was completely hard.

A strong fervor rose between the two……

Gu Bai’s body finally began to give rise to desire. He was sluggish down there, but he didn’t have erectile dysfunction.

Qi Guan Rui seemed to be very pleased. His entire body covered Gu Bai. As he used his own hard thing to rub against Gu Bai’s, he also held onto Gu Bai’s waist tightly and moved back and forth on his body with vigor. His mouth didn’t stop either, he kept gnawing on Gu Bai’s body, and left behind countless mottled marks on his skin.

It was like he was patrolling his own territory.

A ball of fire seemed to gradually well up in Gu Bai’s mind. Everywhere Qi Guan Rui touched burned.

It was as if he were being scorched in raging flames, he felt murky and dazed, and only heard someone murmuring in his ear, in a low voice:

“Gege……”

“Ge” my ass, you unfilial brother!

Gu Bai felt himself getting flipped this way and that. He was nonstop sucked and gnawed on, a tingling sensation spread all throughout his body until even his scalp felt numb.

His body got hotter and hotter, the desire in his lower abdomen was rubbed on more and more viciously. Pleasure accumulated in his body, and finally, at a certain limit… it suddenly erupted!

It felt…… somewhat good.

Gu Bai thought so in a daze, and then was casually flipped over again.

Ah, if you’re gonna flip me, go ahead, I’ve already been flipped over so many times anyway……

But the next moment, something hard was brought up to his behind.

A hard object…… wait!

Gu Bai was scared sober in an instant, he suddenly understood the current situation.

But it was already too late, you only heard the sound of splitting fabric, and he was completely penetrated by something burning hot!

Gu Bai wanted to cry, but he couldn’t. In that slow mind of his, a melody suddenly echoed throughout his head: “The chrysanthemum flower has withered, a whole floor of pain……”[1]

There! was! no! lube!

Dear, you haven’t lubricated it yet… hey!

Xiao’s Comments: Our poor Gu Bai, he was entered without lube…but everything was so funny…

Proofreader’s Comments: OMG… I laughed my ass off in this chapter. Also, boys, communication is the key.

Translator’s Notes:

[1] This lyric is from an immensely popular Chinese song by Jay Chou, called “Ju Hua Tai” (or ‘Chrysanthemum Terrace’). The song sings of the longing thoughts that a soldier out at war and his wife awaiting his return back home have for one another. This particular line talks about the petals of a chrysanthemum flower falling down as it dies, leaving behind a whole floor of sadness. Of course, a ‘flower’ is also a popular symbol for virginity, so the song plays on the fact that Gu Bai has just lost his.

Poison of the Human Panacea (Chapter 57)

Poison of the Human Panacea: Chapter 57

“This Heart-Deluding Gu is quite powerful, and should not be used lightly… who would you use it against?

Si You tucked the Gu into his sleeves, “That is no concern of yours, I[1] have my own use for it.”

Yet Lian Jiu appeared to be quite interested, “I do not see Si Hufa as a man ensnared by love… I am quite curious, what kind of person could the unattainable object of desire be for someone such as Si Hufa, to the point where he would need the Gu to enthrall his heart?”

Si You’s tone grew hostile. “I’ve said it already, this is my own private affair.”

“Let it be then.” Lian Jiu took a sip of the wine, “But I should remind you. Were you to plant this Gu into someone, you should take care to make sure the first person to enter their line of sight after its implantation is you. It’s true that planting the Gu could cultivate desire, the one subjected to the Gu would indeed love you for the moment with all his heart, and see no other except for you. But he won’t love you for a lifetime. The deeper your feelings run for him, the stronger your obsession, that will only hasten the Gu insect’s decline. By the time of the Gu insect’s death, it would be the end of a spring dream[2], when everything comes to naught, and that would be the day of his demise as well. You shall suffer the pain of being separated from your beloved[3]. That is its price.”

……

Si You tilted his head back as he drank a mouthful of wine, he said softly, “To quench the thirst by drinking poison, hmm? For the moment… it’s fine if it’s for the moment. I’m not asking for a lifetime. I only ask for the ecstasy of the moment. When he dies, I will accompany him in death.”

When Bai Tan heard Si You say this, a trace of unease grew from his heart…

He’s so besotted with the old demon, perhaps, he wanted to use it on that old demon?

When he thought of this, in his mind, he conjured up the image of the two of them sweetly affectionate with each other. He couldn’t help but clench his fists tightly.

It appeared… he still couldn’t let it go.

Lian Jiu took another sip of wine, he said, “Do you think Tian Su is currently with that little evildoer?”

“Perhaps, but neither of them would make it far. This sandstorm doesn’t look to be abating anytime soon. They must be hiding nearby. I shall send out a messenger hawk for a search when the weather improves.”

“That would be good.” Lian Jiu patted the prairie wolf lying by his side. “Perhaps, this could come to good use.”

Bai Tan thought that these two were practically colluding hand in glove with each other. If it weren’t for Li Wuzhang being injured, he would have instantly made a move and ended the two of them. He didn’t want to stay any longer and dragged Li Wuzhang back towards the horse. But at that moment, he felt a long, thin, and chilly object curl up next to his ankle. A snake! He jerked his foot back instinctively, while he slashed downwards with Shiyue. Yet the severed snake head still sprang up, and bit squarely into his calf!

In excruciating pain, Bai Tan released a soft groan, then he heard the quiet snarling of some beast coming from the other side. He turned his head sideways to look, and sure enough, the wolf at Lian Jiu’s side had gotten to its feet. He couldn’t stop himself from fearing the worst, but his foot was already going numb.

“Who’s there?!”

Lian Jiu let out a sharp cry, the large wolf leaped up and lunged for him over the waist-high bushes. Its movements were as swift as the wind and quick as lightning. Bai Tan raised Shiyue to slash at it. There was a blood curdling howl, and the wolf’s head dropped to the ground, its blood splashing across the dirt.

“Little evildoer!”

“I’ve searched high and low for you[4]!”

When he saw several figures quickly pursuing him, Bai Tan grabbed Li Wuzhang and tossed him onto the back of the horse. But before he could mount the horse himself, a rush of wind assailed him from behind. He struck the horse suddenly with a palm, and with Li Wuzhang on its back, the horse sprinted away wildly. Meanwhile, he slashed his blade behind his back with his other hand in defense. Yet at the moment, Bai Tan was dragging along a numb, injured leg and couldn’t jump easily. So, he dropped to the ground and rolled away from Lian Jiu’s blow. He saw that razor sharp claw slicing towards his forehead, and with one hand he performed “Zhu Tian Hua Mo Zhua[5]” to counter; he blinked, and in the same instant, he used a movement of “Yan Shi Mei Xing”.

Now that his alluring bone was in full bloom, the seductive air about him was already quite overpowering, that, combined with his Arts of Enchantment, was nothing that Lian Jiu could withstand. He froze on the spot and was struck by Bai Tan’s blow squarely in the chest. He spat out a mouthful of blood and crashed back three zhang, before he slammed into a tree.

But before Bai Tan could get to his feet, a long, black shadow hurtled towards him from above. He snatched at it while he swiftly slid backwards against the ground like a python. Si You’s shadow menaced him step by step, following him from above like a lingering wraith. The two of them met with multiple blows and exchanged hit after hit, but Bai Tan still couldn’t get away. As the poison began to affect him, his situation grew more precarious. His hands missed Si You’s, and each landed a hit on the other’s chest, which pushed both of them back several meters. Bai Tan took the chance, and reached out to call back Shi Yue, but he saw Si You swing his arm, and a long chain snaked out to stop the path of the chilly light flying towards him. In an instant the chain wrapped itself around his hurt leg and hung him upside down from the tree next to him. Immediately, Bai Tan felt the world spinning around him and a wave of dizziness came over him. He couldn’t muster his strength as he clawed around wildly in midair, but he had nothing to grab ahold of.

“Little scoundrel who doesn’t know his place!” Si You let out a long laugh, he walked towards him, and yanked the youth up by his sleek hair. He took a sniff, “The obscene smell of a vixen, how revolting. Let’s have you burn, so that Wulin could be freed of your curse.”

After saying this, he took a huozhezi[6] from his sleeves, and slowly inched towards the ends of the youth’s hair.

Bai Tan struggled with all his might, but his hair was held firmly in Si You’s grip, and he couldn’t move at all. The fire quickly licked its way up from the tips of his hair, and an acrid smell rose from it. But just then, a strong burst of wind rushed in and put the fire out in an instant! A figure descended from the sky and took Bai Tan into his embrace. Si You hurriedly cried out, “Sect Leader-”

The words were scarcely out of his mouth, when two heavy blows struck him consecutively in the face. He was knocked back several zhang[7] by the blows, then crumpled to the ground.

Wu Yanfu undid the long chain, and held the youth close, he grasped the ends of his burned hair and cut it off with a stroke of his blade. As he lowered his head to look at Bai Tan’s bloodless little face, his heart felt as if a knife was twisting inside, “Are you injured anywhere else?”

Bai Tan had just gotten down from the tree, he was so dizzy he was seeing stars. Yet from the corner of his eye, he saw Si You’s figure move. He lifted an arm and a white object streaked towards them. He swiftly put a hand over Wu Yanfu’s eyes and struck at it. The white object promptly crumbled into dust, and a flying insect sprang out, but it didn’t dare get closer to Wu Yanfu, and in the blink of an eye, it dove into his palm.

Bai Tan hurriedly backed up a few steps and closed his eyes. Wu Yanfu saw Si You’s hand reaching towards them and his pupils contracted. He was afraid that Si You would hurt Bai Tan, so he threw him back with a blow, and he turned around to put an arm around Bai Tan’s body, “Tan Er!”

Bai Tan heard his voice, and at that moment, could feel the butterflies fluttering in his stomach[8], as if he was falling for him again like all those years ago.

Yet he knew in his heart, he would soon… soon die.

To die with these feelings, without any pain, that wouldn’t be such a terrible thing.

He pondered this to himself, like a huge weight was lifted off his chest, but his body grew hot as if he had become drunk from wine, and he longed to become closer to this man. He couldn’t help himself as he wrapped his arms around Wu Yanfu and buried his face in the crook of his neck as he moaned, “Shizun…”

Wu Yanfu’s whole body trembled, he wondered if he was in a dream. “What is it, Tan Er?”

“I’m so afraid… hold me, don’t let me go.” Bai Tan finished his mumbling, then groggily leaned into his embrace.

“Of course, I won’t let go.” Wu Yanfu felt for the youth’s pulse, with only one touch he realized that his pulse was unusually irregular. The look in his eyes darkened and with him in his arms, he strode to Si You as his hand shot out to grab him by the neck.

“Si You, what have you done to him?”

Si You’s neck arched back, his eyes closed, and his face was despondent as he cried out in a quivering voice, “Sect Leader… I shouldn’t have disobeyed your orders. If you must take my life, I wouldn’t dare defy you, and am willing to accept my death.”

“Do you really think I wouldn’t be willing to do so?” A glacial light reflected from Wu Yanfu’s eyes as his hand reached behind Si You’s neck. His fingers[9] tightened, then with the sickening crunch of bone, his thumb had already pierced into Si You’s shoulder blades[10].

Si You screamed in agony, his whole body shaking.

Wu Yanfu’s hand moved inch by inch to his wrist, his narrow eyes were half closed and shone with a trace of bloodlust. “Si You, when you last attacked him, I didn’t pursue the matter on account of your life being near its end, and you having aided me during your youth. Do not mistake my benevolence for a carte blanche from punishment[11]. I will ask you again, what did you use on him? For every time I ask, I will snap one of your bones… until you are willing to talk.”

A chilly light emanated from the jade mask, as if it belonged to a jade faced shura. Si You’s entire body felt cold, as if he’d plunged into the Hell of Cold and Ice[12]. He knew this man’s methods better than anyone, only now, the one on the receiving end was himself.

“It… It was Lian Jiu who planted the Gu in him. I… couldn’t resist seeking revenge for the loss of an arm!”

Wu Yanfu’s fingers tightened further, his grip was so tight that Si You’s shoulder blades creaked, “Did I allow you to seek revenge? Why did you not wait for me at the Dragon Gate, but instead left with the people from Yueyin Palace?”

Si You’s face turned pale with pain, he kept shaking his head. He could only feel impending doom, and his knees dropped to the ground with a thump, “I had come out from the Dragon Gate, met with Lian Jiu and his associates, and was made aware that they were seeking to take you back to Yueyin Palace. As your subordinate, I had considered the Sect Leader’s current predicament, so then I decided to go along with them. Who could have known that I would have encountered him here…”

Wu Yanfu’s hand moved like lightning, one finger dotted down his Ren artery. Every fingerprint drew blood, as he sealed shut the acupuncture points on his Ren artery[13]. “I will spare your life. I’ve pierced your shoulder blades and rendered one of your arteries useless. You would have no chance of using your chain again, so you may as well stop your pining for that arm. Should you continue to bear ill will against him, I shall make your life worse than death.”

Si You sprawled on the ground trembling, but his face was twisted, as if half laughing, half crying.

“Si You gives his thanks… for the Sect Leader sparing his life.”

Sect leader, soon… soon you shall know of my current feelings.

That little evildoer won’t have long to live, but Si You will never abandon or leave you, until death and beyond.

Wu Yanfu held Bai Tan as he took a few steps forward, he saw that a few people were fleeing from the oasis in a carriage. He immediately leaped forward, and on the spot, struck down the few people on horseback. Then, he snatched Lian Jiu from inside the carriage and pulled him away from the horses. But he saw that his face was a ghastly green, with his mouth full of blood; he had already fallen unconscious.

He had no attention to spare, Wu Yanfu sealed Lian Jiu’s acupuncture points with a few movements and shoved him onto the horse. He carried Bai Tan into the carriage, and peeled his clothes open to check his injuries, neutralize the poison, and see to his wound. After a few mouthfuls of poisoned blood was sucked out, Bai Tan awoke drowsily. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw Wu Yanfu crouching below him, with his head lowered and holding his ankle. The bandage-wrapped face was stained with blood. He couldn’t help but be caught off guard, “Shizun.”

Translator’s Notes:

[1] An important note is that Si You refers to himself as “this demon”. This is rare even for evildoers in Chinese Wuxia (because no one wants to think of themselves as a bad person XD); it implies that Si You understands and accepts that he is beyond redemption.

[2] Spring dream – in Chinese it refers to ephemeral splendor and the impermanent things in life. It can also mean “wet dream”…but that’s not the case here .>_>

[3] An important idea of Chinese Buddhism is the concept of the 8 sufferings: birth, aging, sickness, death, to be separated from one’s beloved, to be forced together with one’s hated, to be unable to attain one’s true desire, and the pain of existence (this last concept is hard to explain). This refers to the fifth of these, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Du%E1%B8%A5kha for more information

[4] Literally, “I’ve worn out a pair of iron shoes looking for it”, the second half of the idiom is “得来全不费功夫”, which means “but i ended up finding it with no effort at all”. Usually, the second half isn’t said, since it’s rather self-explanatory

[5] Literally, “Heaven slaying Demon Turning Claw”

[6] 火折子 (huozhezi) is a small tube of tightly rolled, rough paper that was used for starting fires in ancient China. Usually, it contained phosphorus so the fire would keep burning.

[7] Old Chinese unit of measurement for distance, one zhang is equivalent to 3.3 meters or 10.9 feet.

[8] Literally, “small fawn dashing around in one’s heart”, basically heart doing flip flops or butterflies because the person feels nervous near his loved one.

[9] The actual term here, “虎口”, literally “tiger’s mouth”, actually refers to the part of your hand between your thumb and index finger.

[10] Literally “pipa bones”, Pipa is a Chinese musical instrument (it looks a bit like a ukulele). There’s actually quite a bit of debate about whether the pipa bones are the shoulder blades or the collar bones, but I believe the medical consensus is shoulder blades.

[11] The actual term here is “gold amulet to be exempt from death”. In Ancient China, at very rare times, the Emperor would give a gold amulet to those who have done the kingdom or the emperor himself extraordinary service. The carrier of the amulet can use it for any purpose (to gain money, land, etc), but in TV drama it’s most often shown to be used as a get out of jail free card during times of peril.

[12] In Buddhism, there are 16 (sub) levels of the first major layer of Hell, or the Hell of Thoughts, the lowest sublevel is called literally “Cold and Ice”.

[13] In Chinese Wuxia, you use Qi to break through acupuncture points to get better at martial arts. To have them sealed again basically makes your skills useless.

Transmigrated into the World of “Demon Lord Wu Zun” Chapter 49

Chapter 49: Caught…

The barren mountain range had no lush plants or trees, the animals were few, and dry rocks lay everywhere. The place seemed to give off a desolate atmosphere as well.

With a blank expression, Gu Bai went into the mountains and found a cave.

At the cave entrance was a relatively short tree, its leaves fell in a swirl as he approached.

……it suddenly felt even bleaker.

Gu Bai painstakingly entered the cavern, and then…… hugged his knees as he squatted down.

He looked like a bitter cauliflower.

The situation seemed exceedingly miserable.

It had already been half an hour since he’d last recalled Qi Guan Rui’s indecencies, Gu Bai had mostly calmed down by now…… his nose ached, and he felt incomparably depressed.

How could Gu Xiao Shan be that psychopath?

Unhappy……

But there was nothing he could do about being unhappy. If he was deceived then he was deceived, fuck……. he could finally understand the agony of an innocent woman getting emotionally duped by an unfaithful man after giving birth to their child……. wait, something wasn’t right! Alright, even though he wasn’t a woman but a man, he still expended his emotions, okay! He thought he could spend centuries training with, traveling with, and relying on that brat, okay! How the fuck did he not know that the psychopath now not only tricked love from women but also tricked familial-like fondness from men!

It was so irritating! He wanted an explanation, ahhhh!

Gu Bai’s mind was a mess. After straining to maintain face[1] for so many years, he thought that he could finally let his guard down in front of Gu Xiao Shan. Yet, he got the equation “Gu Xiao Shan = Qi Guan Rui = psycho protagonist” instead, how exhausting.

After squatting for a while, Gu Bai still thought of that person as a good-for-nothing.

Gu Xiao Shan…… okay, it was actually Qi Guan Rui.

Qi Guan Rui must have discovered that he’d left without a word by now, would he think that his kindness was unappreciated? Would he think that he was a traitor? Would he crush him into pieces and chew him up and swallow him like the traitors in the original story? Would…… he go searching everywhere for him?

In the original novel, all those who were deemed a traitor by Qi Guan Rui suffered atrocious endings.

He must have been added onto the blacklist by now, becoming one of Qi Guan Rui’s pledged targets of annihilation…… he wasn’t willing to reconcile with this notion no matter how he thought about it.

He’d clearly worked so hard already, why would things end up like this?

The more Gu Bai thought about it, the more irritated he became, the more he thought about it the more……wait, Tian Du Cheng!

It was like he was suddenly splashed with a bucket of ice water, he felt cold from head to toe.

Tian Du Cheng… now that Qi Guan Rui had noticed he was gone, would he look to cause trouble in Tian Du Cheng?

Gu Bai suddenly remembered Tian Du Cheng’s finale in the original story……a dead city.

In the original novel, Qi Guan Rui turned into the Tun Tian Xuan Mang and devoured everyone at the wedding hall, then decimated the entire city.

And in that tragic scene, the people who regarded the tragedy to be set off by the Mo Ren seeking revolt… became the Mo Domain’s final BOSS.

Thinking of this, Gu Bai shivered and felt unnerved.

Yes, after he transmigrated into the body of Zi Che Shu Bai and took on the responsibility of Tian Du Cheng, it was just so he could take advantage of his identity to help himself live a better life. He thought that as long as he avoided the protagonist, he could evade this tragedy and live merrily through the aid of the city.

……it was just for him to take advantage of, and it only existed to be of use to his life.

But as time went on, Gu Bai cultivated many trustworthy subordinates and received love and esteem from the entire Tian Du Cheng.

‘The man is neither grass nor tree’[2]. No matter how cruel Gu Bai may be, no matter how accustomed to this world that dignified Wushu he was, he still had some affection for the people of Tian Du Cheng.

That small amount of affection wasn’t enough to sacrifice his life for, but in the moment, it did make him think of the city residents’ respect for him, and the group of loyal dogs that were willing to give up everything for him…… he felt like he was plummeting into an ice hole.

No, no, no, perhaps the worst was yet to come.

If he went back by himself……

He might only continue the original plot’s finale by getting eaten by Qi Guan Rui. But it was also possible that Qi Guan Rui might accept him as an ally on the basis that he had returned on his own accord, and also accept the entire Tian Du Cheng as an ally…… if he was willing to be controlled by the snake gu.

Gu Bai had already checked, there were no signs of abnormalities in his body. Perhaps Qi Guan Rui hadn’t thought the timing was right yet, or maybe Qi Guan Rui valued the ability to exploit his body itself more. Maybe……maybe there was some other reason.

He still had a chance of surviving, but he mustn’t wait until Qi Guan Rui came to catch him first.

If that were to happen, he’d really think that he was betrayed and there’d be no chance at all.

Once he’d thought it through, Gu Bai became annoyed at his sudden act of impulse.

He shouldn’t have escaped, why had he suddenly become so reckless?

Qi Guan Rui exposing the snake voodoo in front of him was a test on its own. If he had passed this test, perhaps he could’ve also become one of Qi Guan Rui’s underlings like Chen Yuanhao and Chou Tu… then he wouldn’t have to die!

But he’d messed this up.

Didn’t know if there was still time to fix it either……

Gu Bai sighed.

It was his fault that his fear of the psycho protagonist was so strong after all these years, resulting in his conditioned reflex screwing everything up.

So what… even if Qi Guan Rui was only acting……Gu Bai suppressed the sourness in his heart and snorted coldly.

Worst comes to worst, I’ll just act along hereafter, who doesn’t know how to pretend to be intimate!

Anyhow, the most important thing is to hurry back right now.

And an excuse, I must find a good one!

Gu Bai thought it through, and immediately stood up, feeling vigorous and ready.

Return, return, return… not a second to waste!

Right at that moment, a slender shadow eased into the cavern.

And following it, was a voice, gentle as can be: “Gege, why did you escape to here? You’ve made me search so hard……”

Gu Bai’s face turned blue.

What can be worse than being caught right after he thought it all through, ah shit!

He opened his mouth, just about to explain.

Fuck… even though it’s a little late, having an explanation is still better than having none! Hurry up and open your mouth, get to the point!

But the very next moment, he felt a wave of dizziness, followed by darkness, and then nothing.

His final thoughts were: Fuck, how despicable! Releasing poison gas the minute you come in!

Qi Guan Rui didn’t know how much time had passed, he only knew that he had long waited for Zi Che Shu Bai to return to no avail, and the rising wildness in his chest got harder and harder to suppress.

And then…… and then there might have been some little bugs that appeared. He didn’t bother to deal with them, so he just morphed into his original python form and let his instincts take over his body.

He might have swallowed a lot of people…… the power within him kept rising ceaselessly.

He followed an immensely faint scent and swallowed some idiots that tried to block the way for some reason.

He’d never had this feeling before.

More and more blocked the way, then gradually less and less. His power kept rising until that of an intermediate Wu Wang, then it finally slowed down.

At this time, the lingering scent at the tip of his nose also became increasingly distinct.

When the large python arrived at the barren mountain range, it suddenly morphed into a handsome young man.

Finally…… found it.

The distorted snake shadow climbed the mountainside at full speed, and in an instant, arrived at the lonely cave.

The handsome young man sniffed, smiled, and walked in.

The figure he had missed so much stood in the center of the cavern with the same cold arrogance as usual.

He always looked so elevated, so unattainable.

The long, strenuous time that Qi Guan Rui had spent being tormented and searching for him… it seemed to be only an insignificant dash of dust in that person’s cold eyes.

The way he looked at Qi Guan Rui from up above, like he was looking at a lump of filth.

……if Gu Bai knew Qi Guan Rui’s inner thoughts, he’d feel so wronged, okay.

To hell with your lump of filth! To hell with your dust!

Speaking of which, I only looked at you for a second… how the hell did you even make out all these emotions and even drew your own analogies!

Overthinking is an illness you gotta seek treatment for, dear!

But Gu Bai was unconscious, so he couldn’t yell.

Then, he was held tightly in the person’s arms and carried away.

When Gu Bai woke, he was in the usual high spirits he always felt after a deep sleep.

He realized then and there: Motherfucker! So not being able to wake up was indeed from being poisoned… you’ve ruined me so badly, psycho protagonist!

Soon after, Gu Bai opened his eyes. He wanted to move, to move…… why couldn’t he move?!

A restrictive feeling came from his wrists and ankles. If he struggled hard enough, you could even hear the crisp sound of clanging metal.

In that instant, he had a horrible gut feeling.

Gu Bai turned around to look and wished to gouge out his own eyes instead.

I! am! tied! up!

Why am I tied up?!

And I’m even tied to a bed…… did I enter the wrong set?

That’s right, Gu Bai was now stripped of his outer jacket. He lay face up on the large, soft bed with only his inner clothing on.

There was a post on each corner of the bed, which appeared to be cast from some special kind of metal. The cold, hard look of them… it seemed as if they couldn’t be destroyed.

At the same time, his four limbs were shackled by metal chains made from the same material. The long chains came out of the four metal pillars, like a miniature cage.

Gu Bai took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly.

He tried, but couldn’t activate his Wu Qi…… no doubt, it had been constrained by these chains.

In Gu Bai’s impression, this book had indeed written about something called the “Jin Wu Xuan Tie”[3]. Not only was the rigidity shocking, as long as you used it to tie someone up, any martial practitioner below the level of Wu Di would not be able to congregate their Wu Qi… becoming no different from an ordinary person. Even if it were a superior being above the level of Wu Di, under the restrictions of the Jin Wu Xuan Tie, they would still be greatly affected.

But Gu Bai couldn’t understand! There was no way to understand!

Qi Guan Rui and he used to be inseparable, how had he even gotten his hands on this thing… it was really precious, okay!

And even made it into a big bed like this……

Besides, speaking of Qi Guan Rui, where had he gone… why the hell had he not seen him since waking up?

Right at that moment, the door was pushed open.

The door to the luxurious room Gu Bai lay in was pushed open by the slender shadow of a human figure.

The person gradually got closer, it was indeed that gentle-smiling, handsome young man.

Qi Guan Rui called out affectionately: “Gege, you’re awake.”

Gu Bai looked over. He always used to think Xiao Shan was so, so kind and he also knew Xiao Shan was very, very good-looking. But he’d never observed him as carefully as he did just then, trying to find anything different about him with reference to his memory…… or trying to find something to better prove that he was a psychopath.

Qi Guan Rui smiled slightly: “What’s Gege looking at?” He walked closer as he spoke, bending his leg to kneel-halfway on the bed, “Do you not recognize me?”

Gu Bai saw very clearly.

His face was still the one he was familiar with, but those eyes……

The light in those eyes was clearly crazed and suppressed.

Crazed to the point… that it was nearly contorted.

Gu Bai was literally going to burst into tears!

H-h-h-he really is a psycho! A proper psycho!

Look at that psychopath’s eyes! If you said those weren’t the fucking eyes of someone who ate people, no one would believe you!

Evil gods[4]……

Qi Guan Rui suddenly turned his head and smiled: “Right, I forgot. Gege isn’t able to speak right now.”

Gu Bai wished he could nod his head faster. That’s right, you better hurry and let me talk… it’s terrible finding out you’re mute the second you wake up!

Qi Guan Rui’s smile became even gentler: “But, compared to letting Gege say things I don’t want to hear, I might as well not let you talk at all.” His knees slowly moved, slowly…… then he straddled the long, straight legs of the person on the bed, enshrouding him beneath his body.

“I would never despise Gege, but why does Gege despise me?”

No, no, no, I don’t despise you…… okay, I at most despise that you’re a psycho, but we can talk it out! Let’s! talk! this! out!

“I clearly trust Gege so much…… why did Gege run away?”

I just didn’t react in time you bastard, aren’t I back now… it’s just that you were faster!

“You clearly acted as if you were going to stay with me forever, but you left me without a word, and made me wait so long……”

Dear, if you’re unhappy, let me strike a deal with you and stay with you for two days without leaving… is that okay now……

“I’m so upset.”

Qi Guan Rui leaned even closer.

Gu Bai felt as if he could see the fangs deep in Qi Guan Rui’s mouth.

Fuck, was this the cue that he was gonna start eating?!

Don’t eat someone alive… you want me to watch myself get eaten bite by bite?? This is too scary!

And also, what the fuck are you upset about, I should be the one upset okay… cute lil bro turns out to be a psychopath that eats other people… don’t you think the disparity is a little much?!

Slowly, the tip of Qi Guan Rui’s nose touched the tip of Gu Bai’s nose.

“Gege betrayed me and let me down.”

……no! I can sincerely explain!

Qi Guan Rui’s voice was low and soft: “It seems like Gege wants to tell me something?”

He laughed softly: “But no matter what it is, I don’t think…… I want to hear it.”

Gu Bai’s eyes widened; his heart was crying tears.

I’m! begging! you! Give me a chance to explain!

I really was going to come back and find you TAT……

[1] The concept of “face” in Chinese refers to the cultural understanding of social standing, respect, and honor. So, when asked to “give face” or “keep face”, it means to perform respect-giving actions or to maintain a respectful facade.

[2] ”人非草木” is a Chinese idiom which states that mankind does not act like grass or trees. Mankind is not feelingless and neutral to emotions, but is instead able to be influenced by sentimental feelings.

[3] Directly translated from Chinese, the Jin Wu Xuan Tie means a mysterious metal that prohibits the practicing of martial arts.

[4] In the context of this line, Gu Bai was complaining that the deities/eyes ‘up-above’ were doing evil, so I felt that it was best to replace the term “苍天” with “gods” instead of its more technical translation of “heaven”. In the olden times, people thought of “苍天” as the god/deity that overlooked life and dictated their fate.

Transmigrated into the World of “Demon Lord Wu Zun” Chapter 48

Chapter 48: Crazy

Zi Che · truly tragic · Shu Bai, or also known as the ‘stupid writer’, felt his whole world crack.

My little Shan is so cute, how can he be a freak?!

This is absolutely impossible!

There must be a mistake……

Gu Bai looked at Qi Guan Rui uncertainly, his ten interlocked fingers shot out snake voodoos like that of an arrow leaving the bowstring. Each one mustered great strength to burrow into the brains of the Mo Ren.

The original work clearly stated: Aside from the bloodline of the Tun Tian Xuan Mang, no other bloodline had the ability to control snake voodoo.

The original intent was to have a unique, golden leg unlike the rest, impossible to duplicate.

But……

Fuck, I can’t deceive myself even if I wanted to!

Thinking back, Gu Bai was overwhelmed with emotions.

Damn, that’s right. If Gu Xiao Shan wasn’t the psycho protagonist but just a normal servant, how could he have that kind of temperament!

Thinking back carefully on this guy’s behavior and comparing it with the information he’d found, then setting it side by side with the memories in his mind… even the things that didn’t make sense before could be explained now. Let’s not make it worse by bringing up the details.

For example, when he had first looked into Gu Xiao Shan’s background, he had thought that someone faking their persona wouldn’t need to seek refuge with him. But if the protagonist was a psychopath, he wouldn’t even need a reason to do such a thing! Another example was that while Gu Xiao Shan’s martial arts skills seemed pretty low, Tun Tian Xuan Mang itself had the ability to conceal its powers. In the original story, the psycho protagonist relied on this very factor to deliberately trick others into thinking he was weak… it’s a must-have trait for a proper slap in the face! Yet another example was how he always ran into the protagonist’s girls no matter where he went, it must have been because the protagonist was by his side all along!

And all the ‘encountering adventure’ stuff, the ‘character’s tragic past’ stuff, the ‘important male supporting’ role stuff…… it was unbearable to watch.

That being said, sleeping with Gu Xiao Shan was always so deep, so peaceful. Could it be that he was also tampered with?!

Thinking closely, it was terrifying……

Gu Bai’s whole body felt nauseous.

This practically felt like being struck by lightning……. oh no, more like being thunderstruck as divine punishment.

He’d led a life of avoiding the psychopath, but in reality, actually kept the psychopath by his side the whole time, was he not a fucking storehouse?

Okay, he most definitely was a storehouse……ah.

Gu Bai was on the verge of collapsing, but he was used to keeping up an aloof, grandeur shell. In reality, his mind was completely blank.

He watched Qi Guan Rui control the snake voodoo, he watched Qi Guan Rui occasionally release a punch or two…… his power was no worse than his own…… and he watched Qi Guan Rui reach out his hand…… to pull him.

Qi Guan Rui didn’t know why Gu Bai suddenly stopped moving, and felt somewhat exasperated.

Although Zi Che Shu Bai did indeed like to let his mind wander, did he have to do it in a life-and-death situation…… could it be that the released force of the snake voodoo scared Zi Che Shu Bai? But logically speaking, he shouldn’t be that gutless.

Or was it that…… he was disgusted by this method?

Qi Guan Rui’s tone was very gentle: “Gege, why are you dazing off?”

Gu Bai didn’t return to his senses, but reflexively said: “……it’s nothing.”

Immediately afterwards, he also began attacking by going off his instincts.

Because Qi Guan Rui started to give free rein to his true strength, he controlled the snake voodoo smoothly and with ease, quickly seizing a good portion of the Mo Ren’s brains, turning them into his own puppets, and turning them around to attack the other Mo Rens instead.

And even though Gu Bai was only striking out with his instincts, under the circumstance of reduced pressure, it wasn’t a problem dealing with three or four intermediate Wu Jun at once. Not long after, the majority of the Mo Ren had already been killed, and it appeared as though they were about to be wiped out at any moment.

The Mo Ren made eye contact with each other momentarily, and abruptly fled in two directions.

The enemy was too strong, the Mo Ren were a byproduct of those who had gone overboard in their pursuit of martial arts and were misguided, but they hadn’t lost their minds.

Gu Bai instantly said: “Let’s split up and go after them, we can’t let a single one escape.”

Qi Guan Rui saw that Gu Bai’s expression was back to normal, and felt relieved…… looked like he was just a little shocked and stunned.

Of course, he was very obedient, so he smiled softly and said: “Okay, we’ll meet here later, Gege?”

Gu Bai agreed, glanced at Qi Guan Rui with a conflicted expression, and ran off with a “shoo” sound.

Yes, ran off.

Gu Bai ran off in the direction of the fleeing Mo Ren, and before they’d hardly made it out, he’d already killed them all off.

But after finishing them, he didn’t return. Instead, he unceasingly fled the city at an even faster pace.

Only after running for hundreds of miles, did he finally stop at a barren mountain range.

There were no more roads ahead, unless you crossed the mountain range.

Only then, did Gu Bai finally came to his senses.

He also finally came to terms with reality…… even if he didn’t want to admit it, he must acknowledge that the person he had regarded as someone just as important as his own blood, was the very psychopath that would come to sacrifice the entire world and break the void alone.

……the very psychopath he had created.

Gu Bai had never thought that the poor child he had rescued from the Town of the Blue Goats would become the cool, handsome, domineering protagonist later on.

You couldn’t blame him for being stupid, it was just that his novel was a ’feel-good’ novel[1]. There was no way it would go into detail about the protagonist’s hardship-filled youth, it started right off the bat with “The sky was dark and the winds were high, a young man stumbled through the night, behind him were chasing killers and in front of him was a bottomless cliff”. The protagonist was already 18 from the very beginning, where he would be knocked down again, okay!

As for the protagonist’s past, it was written in a narrative manner in one go. It said that he was ridiculed and looked down upon, but it never mentioned how the protagonist was mistreated. Even with the so-called Aunt, it only mentioned that when the protagonist sought revenge, he had killed the foolish woman that pushed him around, never disclosing the woman’s specific identity at all.

How was he supposed to compare one to the other, and draw the connection between a pitiful child and the eventual psycho?

Thinking about it now, perhaps this world installed its own set of logic, and it resulted in his entrapment.

But if Gu Xiao Shan is the psycho protagonist…… what should he do now?

Gu Bai cherished and regarded Gu Xiao Shan fondly, but he was also deeply familiar with the character he, himself, had created.

The psycho protagonist walked among many women, befuddling them with his refined attitude, and turning them into die-hard pawns, each thought they were the protagonist’s true love.

The psycho protagonist was loyal and caring to his underlings, attentive and considerate, willing to tolerate their all……even their most ugliest sides;

The psycho protagonist was always cordial and kind, even in the most frightful of  dilemmas he was able to break away by means of his own powers.

In outsider’s eyes, the psycho protagonist would forever be a young man filled with charm, one who placed great importance on devotion and righteousness…… a leader worthy of following……

As long as the psycho protagonist wanted to, he was able to make any person develop a sense of fondness for him, making them believe they had a special place in his heart.

And because of that, he was surrounded by many followers who desperately longed to worship him. But in front of others…… except for the women and underlings devoted to him…… he would never show his true python form.

Yet, in the Demonic City, he was known as the cold-hearted Demon Lord, suppressing the Mo Ren with his powers. The infamous title of the Tun Tian Xuan Mang never ceased to circulate the city.

He was the type of person who appeared to be whatever he acted as, his lies made others believe it was the most genuine truth, and his tenderness towards women was powerful enough to melt ice and snow.

But in the depths of his heart, he didn’t care about a single person at all.

The whole world was just a big playground to him. He would get all sorts of fun and benefits from the women, underlings, and followers. And at the end, when he became the Wu Zun, he would lose interest in this world once again.

The finale was as clear as could be.

Gu Bai trusted Gu Xiao Shan, but he couldn’t trust Qi Guan Rui……. that psychopath.

And so, his first instinct was to run.

Ever since he’d come to this world, all he’d wanted was to avoid the psychopath’s sight and live happily for a couple hundred years enjoying his reborn life…… before dying once the psychopath sacrificed the whole world.

But now it was all ruined.

All his efforts seemed like a joke.

……how devastating.

Fuck, are you toying with me, you damned world?!

Gu Bai felt sick to his stomach.

Gu Xiao Shan treated him well, so well that an otaku like him felt as if no one in his past life was ever as kind, as considerate, or as caring as him. And because of that, he also cared more and more for Gu Xiao Shan, but now he suddenly realized that all of it could be fake.

If it was that psycho, he would used many different kinds of methods to his advantage. He would secretly lie low in a certain city, flirt with the high-status women with powerful backgrounds, take them into his own harem, and then naturally ease into the royal family, and take over the entire city.

So, Qi Guan Rui being nice to him all this time, was it also to take over his city, Tian Du Cheng……?

Gu Bai’s eyes were a little red.

Damn that saying, “real men don’t shed tears easily”, ah I really wanna cry right now!

With heavy steps, Gu Bai slowly headed for the barren mountain range.

Stuff like OCD, having the appearance of an unreachable flower…… he had forgotten it all, only leaving behind a lonely shadow that grew pitifully longer on the ground’s surface.

The sky had darkened.

Meanwhile, Qi Guan Rui had planted all the snake voodoo in the heads of the Mo Ren, so when he rushed back, he brought a group of puppets with him.

The place was a mess, he wanted to see Zi Che Shu Bai quickly and then take the puppets somewhere else to foster connections with them.

The whole place was trashed with flesh, and stained with blood, there was no emotional appeal at all.

But after Qi Guan Rui returned, he still hadn’t seen Gu Bai.

He paused, and stood to wait under a tree.

This time, he seems a bit slow?

Qi Guan Rui waited for many hours, from broad daylight till dark. He waited until the girls that had previously escaped finally found higher-ups to come take care of the mess.

But Gu Bai never came back.

Qi Guan Rui’s expression started to change, from a gentle smile, to a face that got more and more cold.

At last, when the people finally came to investigate, his face had become contorted beyond comparison.

If it were just the few Mo Ren, Zi Che Shu Bai wouldn’t have taken so long. Then…… he must not have wanted to return himself.

Zi Che Shu Bai had abandoned him.

……but why?

Was it because of the snake voodoo, he thought that snake voodoo was disgusting, and dirty, and evil, so he couldn’t stand the snake voodoo, and thus Qi Guan Rui either?

Ah, how lofty of the Tian Du Cheng city lord, he couldn’t even stand a little bit of filth.

His patience, his constraint, none of it stood a chance against Zi Che Shu Bai’s disgust of the snake voodoo.

That’s really…… unforgivable.

Qi Guan Rui covered his face with one hand, his body slightly trembling.

Ten or so puppets surrounded him, standing there quietly. Out of the whole venue, this scene stood out a little too much.

The city guards came late, but the second they saw them, they immediately rushed over to outflank them.

“Who are you people? Why have you caused such a murderous scene?!”

“Capture him! Take him back to the City Governor’s Palace!”

“He must be taken to prison, and served the heaviest punishment!”

Qi Guan Rui’s voice was low and heavy, “……Leave.”

The city guards didn’t hear him clearly, and encircled them even tighter.

The ten or so puppets exploded with a “bang bang”, bursting into clumps of flesh.

A lot of the closer city guards were taken out with them, exploding in the same manner.

In such a strange situation, the city guards couldn’t help but give into their fear.

In the next second, the trembling young man suddenly transformed into a mountain-sized python, with blood-red pupils, and an aura of boundless power and overwhelming force.

The python opened its mouth, taking in a sudden breath…….

All the guard’s faces showed incredulous fear, their bodies floated up against their will, and they were all swallowed by the python’s gaping hole.

The flower viewing venue and the beautiful gardens that had been preserved for thousands of years were turned to ruins.

And in a nearby city was a humongous python behaving in a crazed state, wreaking havoc the whole way.

The large python consumed nearly all the martial artists that came forth to attack, showing no signs of exhaustion, thrashing toward a certain direction.

And no one was able to catch up to it.

[1] *In chinese, “爽文” directly translates into a “feel-good story”, which refers to the type of novel that writes about the protagonist’s story from start to finish in a smooth, fast pace. These novels are incredibly popular, as their sole intention is for readers to ‘feel good’ once they finish reading it.
